Does the KC library offer the same benefits - such as the newspaper database? I agree, the Mid-Continent Public Library is a great resource! I use HeritageQuest through the library to research census data. You can also get into Ancestry for free but you have to do it at the library, not from home. Has anybody seen old family photos of people in this county that were taken by an "H. A. Steele"? I have a couple of nice but unidentified photos taken probably in the late 1800s that list the photographer's name on the bottom as "H. A. Steele ......... Jackson". That is not much help since there is a Jackson in about every state in the Union! But recently I found a couple of relatives for whom it might be likely that their pictures ended up saved in this particular box. It turns out that they lived most of the time in Independence, which of course is in Jackson Co. I might have decided at that point that I had solved the mystery, but doing some Internet searches I got some references to an H.A. Steele who operated a photography business, but out of Jackson, Michigan! This really threw me, as I am fairly certain that my family had no relatives in Michigan in this timeframe. So have any other H.A. Steele photos shown up in Jackson Co., MO? Doug Gordon

It was in the Kansas City Times on 04/29/1920. PRIAR --- Mrs. Eva May Priar, 43 years old died Tuesday at her home, 2710 East Seventeenth Street. Mrs. Priar was born in Platte County, Missouri, and had lived in Kansas City for several years. She is survived by her husband, William A. Priar; two daughters, Mrs. Mary Bryan and Miss Edna Priar, all of the home address. Services will be at 3 o'clock this afternoon at Sheehan's chapel. Burial at Platte City, MO. Her age and the funeral chapel are pretty hard to read--I think that I have it accurate. I hope this helps! Jody Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I would like to find a photo of Holy Name Catholic Church located at 23rd Street and Benton Blvd. It's last occupation was as a Baptist Church. It is on the National Register of Historic Places, but I haven't been able to locate a photo. My father-in-law and his siblings were baptized in this church in 1932. Thank you, Kathleen

His widow, Mary, is listed on the 1900 census for Kansas City. His children were born in Missouri in 1889 and 1893. So somewhere between 1893 and the 1900 census, he died. When their son was born in 1889, they lived on Allen Street (per the Missouri birth record archives). There is no other info. I don't know how or when he died. Any help appreciated. Is there anyone on this list who has Mandy A. BRAZEAL, sometimes spelled Mandy BRASIL. I think she may have been born in MO but at some point in her life removed to Texas. Her certificate is # 942 in Missouri's post-1910 death records database. She is listed in the original index as dying in the State of Texas. Using various spelling I have not found this lady on any census. It is possible she was born in Iowa and then lived in Mo in later years. Thanks for any and all information Virgene in northwest Indiana ************************************** Get a sneak peek of the all-new AOL at http://discover.aol.com/memed/aolcom30tour

Thanks so much. I'm looking for earlier records, as I have my Hagan(s) Baptist church records for the later years. Do you know anything about these? *********************** HISTORY OF CLARK COUNTY KENTUCKY by A. Goff Bedford 1977, Vol, II, "Upper Howard Creek Baptist Church", pages 374-375: "...in the Haggard-Quisenberry-Bush-Hampton area...the southern half of Clark County...established in what was to be known as Ruckerville...organized April 3, 1802...The work did well in the next few years for in 1811, the membership had grown to 147. Jesse Wilcox was added to the messenger list...The church is referred to in the October Court 1816 as Dry Fork Meeting House...In 1811, a building committee has been appointed consisting of John Gibbs and Jesse Wilcoxon, trustees, three acres on Dry Fork, a branch of Upper Howard Creek..." Note: Howards Creek Church, later called Old Providence Church in 1790 was on Lower Howards Creek about 7 miles south of Winchester in Clark Co., KY. The Fort of Boonesborough is about 2 miles south of this old church. The United Baptists formed there in 1801. ************** ----- Original Message ----- From: "Robert L.
