    3. Are you talking about the Missouri roots list at yahoo? And the Jackson County Missouri list? I've been receiving messages from both. Check to make sure your mailing lists are still in your address book. Do you subscribe to the Ontario list at Yahoo? I seem to recall you do. That group is horrible. They are so catty and rude to members. I'm getting ready to unsubscribe soon, I think. I never did care for that Mike, the Owner. He acts like he's missing a few nuts and bolts. I think I will try to locate another Ontario group at Yahoo. How are you? I'm trying to stay comfortable in this triple digit heat. "Janet S. Not 5 minutes ago, someone sent me a v. short article from the Fort Wort Star-Telegram, 9 March, 1922, which says that "Hugh C. French, 34, a drug addict made a signed confession.....[that he] shot Dodge when the latter surprised him when he was about to force an entrance into the Dodge home, bent on robbery." It probably should have read "Free service to look up obits and articles". However, I don't mind looking up info for people that do not have a library card to access this service but, I think most people are just reading the title of the post and not the message. Author: jhvalet Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.missouri.counties.jackson/6178/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Recently I paid for a subscription to www.genealogybank.com and I was so thrilled with all of the articles I found for my family. They have articles available for the KC Star/KC Times from 9/18/1880 - 12/15/1922 and are constantly adding new articles. On Saturday I found out that you can access this same site for free using your library card for the Mid-Continent Public Libray. I think this is such a great resource and the site covers various newspapers for the whole country spanning from 1690-1977 for historical newspapers and obituaries from 1977-present plus a few other databases. If you have a Mid-Continent Public Library card here are the instructions to access genealogybank.com: Go to http://www.mcpl.lib.mo.us/ Click on Genealogy and Family History Under "Online Resources" click on "Genealogy Databases" Click on "America's Newsbank" You will be taken to the "Remote Log-in" screen and prompted to enter your 14 digig Mid-Continent Library card #. Now you are in! I hope this helps anyone who did not know about this free resource. There are also other databases that you can access from the "Online Resources" page. I don't have a library card for Mid-Continent--that is probably terrible for someone doing genealogy research! So, if you do not have a library card I don't mind looking for you. I hope this helps!
