    3. Are you sure it says LEEDS not LEE"S SUMMITT. It seems to me I read or saw a sign about Charles Parker. For those who want to know more about Leeds . there are a number of books in the genealogical library about Kansas City History. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of [email protected] Sent: Monday, August 13, 2007 3:45 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [MOJACKSO] Charles PARKER obit lookup died 1931 & cemetery question This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Would greatly appreciate a lookup or a lead on an online source with the obituary. According to his death certificate, it looks like the cemetery he was buried in was Leeds. The writing was difficult to read. Does anyone know if this is the name or part of a name for a cemetery in Jackson Co? Any info on where this cemetery is would also be very helpful. I tried to find anything "Leeds" on the internet but of course didn't find anything. The closest thing I could find was a Lees Summit cemetery, in Lees Summit, Jackson Co., MO. I hope there is an obituary at the library. He came from a large family and one of his sisters also died in Kansas City. If you do make it to the library, and if it is not too much trouble, I am also looking for his sister, Callie May Parker Hemphill- died June 1977. SSDI doesn't give me an exact date of death. I really apppreciate thing you are able to come up with. Is there a Mount Calvary Cemetery in Jackson Co.? I have an obit for a death in Kansas City, but I have not been able to find any listing or address for this cemetery. 1. [MOJACKSO] Looking for Leeds cemetery
    2. There is a Mount Calvary Cemetery in KCKs-phone 913 371-4040 and same name at Olathe Ks-same phone number. Calvary (not Mt) 816 623 2114 is at 69th & Troost, KCMo- (Catholic section-adjoins Forest Hills). Leeds had the TB sanitarium, the County work farm, the County Poor house, so you need to get into Jackson County records. I have seen, but cannot find, the name of the cemetery at Leeds at this time- ____________________________________ Get a sneak peek of the all-new _AOL.com_ (http://discover.aol.com/memed/aolcom30tour/?ncid=AOLAOF00020000000982) . ************************************** Get a sneak peek of the all-new AOL at http://discover.aol.com/memed/aolcom30tour

I pulled up the death certificate for Charles Parker online and sure enough, that's what it looks like. The only reference to anything "Leeds" that I'm familiar with is a General Motors plant that used to be in Kansas City, open from about 1921 until 1978. I will try to get to the genealogy library some time this week and see if I can find an obituary for you unless someone else gets to it before I do. Maybe the obiturary will give more information about where your Charles Parker is buried. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
