Author: VanetteHobbsHamilton Surnames: THOMAS Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.missouri.counties.jackson/6191.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Images of Jackson County, MO marriage records are at http://records.co.jackson.mo.us/search.asp?cabinet=marriage I did not find a Delores Thomas of the right age to be the one you're looking for. There was one whose birth year was close. For some time periods only the age is given; later ones give birth dates and locations. Perhaps you can get some clue by personally looking at the image. I didn't try alternate spellings either. Hope this is some help. Vanette Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. 1. [MOJACKSO] Looking for an obit
    2. I am looking for an obit for my great grandfather.?? We would have died in Jackson County and lived in Oak Grove, Missouri.? His death date should be June 17, I believe the year to be 1907.? His name was Thomas B. Walraven.? I have been able to find the death certificate for his father also with the same name and his obit but have not been able to find the other Thomas.? Is it possible that they would not have a record of his death or an obit? Sue Walraven ________________________________________________________________________ AOL now offers free email to everyone. I am needed some help... I am looking for my great grandfather's sister. Her name was Mabel McCarry... Her grandmother, Leah Orendorf, raised her and I last found her in the 1900 census living in Jackson County, MO as a boarder. Her grandmother was in the same house as a housekeeper. She was born in Pike County, Illinois in Feb 1883. The 1900 census says Feb 1882 but I do have her birth cert. In 1910 her grandmother is living in Wyandotte County, Kansas with her son and grandchildren. Mabel is no where to be found. I am sure she married and moved on but to who she married, where she married, or even IF she married is a mystery to us. Can anyone suggest a next step? Does anyone have access to Jackson County marriage after 1900? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am in contact with a great granddaughter of Leah and she has a few pics of Mabel but no information on her. 3. Remember, when requesting Jackson Co. Mo. records you need to do both Jackson Co. and Kansas City those addresses have been posted. In your case also try Johnson Co. Kansas vital records. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of [email protected] Sent: Thursday, August 16, 2007 11:04 AM To: [email protected] Subject: [MOJACKSO] Mabel McCarry This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. 3. Depending on which Cemetery. At what is now Truman East Hospital was the Old Old Sanitarium and the County(Poor) farm, some tell me a POW camp, and John Doe burials. Lincoln is as I said earlier marked as being burial site of Jazzman, Charlie PARKER. Something in my mind says he was transferred to another cite but I can't find my reference. 3. There is a cemetery ,very old, restored in 1989. North of old forty along Westport Road before you get to Blueridge cutoff. It is Pitcher but could have been know by a local name In the 6 mile area are several Lincoln 1934 Tuohey in "Devil's Backbone" says Charlie Parker, jass Great is buried there. Others in the area are Kehilath Israel 1910, also known as Blue Ridge, Mt Washington 1900 which has an interesting history and is 550 acres., Highland 1909, Blue Ridge Lawn 1925, and Pitcher1834 or earlier. Very small. I highly recommend this hard to find booklet . MCPL-genealogy does have a copy. The only reference to anything "Leeds" that I'm familiar with is a General Motors plant that used to be in Kansas City, open from about 1921 until 1978. I will try to get to the genealogy library some time this week and see if I can find an obituary for you unless someone else gets to it before I do.
