I did a search on Examiner.net but didn't find the obit. Does anyone know if the Wellington area has a newspaper? Thanks, as always, for your assistance. I am in the process of trying to find Charles parents. I show that Charles was born in Ohio in 1835 or 1836. My father told me that Charles was an orphan. The earliest record I find on him is an 1850 census in Kentucky (Boone County). He is 15 years old and living with the Hood family as a laborer. I can not find anything on him in Ohio. Any leads from anyone? Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. The last known information was she was living with her daughter, Ida K. Altman at 740 Locust St. Kansas City in October 1890. I am trying to locate her burial place and an obit if possible. I believe she was catholic so possibly buried in a catholic cemetery. I would sincerely appreciate any help and will pay costs involved. To our knowledge they had no children (married in 1919), but thier headstone says "MOM" & "DAD". We always heard that grandpa was an only child, but raised by his mom, Eva. Who is Pauline and what is her maiden name? Was she & Eva sister's? And was "Dee" his first or a middle name? Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Author: grizziesgirl Surnames: DILL POTTER GIBSON MILLER Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.missouri.counties.jackson/6212/mb.ashx Message Board Post: In the 1920 Jackson Co. census, Walter POTTER, age 13 (MO MO KS) is a "lodger" with Doris GIBSON and her children. Living nearby is Doris' father, Thomas DILL. In 1937 Thomas DILL died in Bourbon Co. KS; in his obit it mentions "one sister Catherine Potter of Kansas City". (As this was a KS paper I realize they could have been referring to KC, KS but it also says Thomas "formerly lived in Kansas City" and his daughter was "Doris Gibson of Kansas City" so I'm sticking with MO.) I have been unable to find Catherine DILL POTTER or determine whether or not Walter was her son. Perhaps I'm missing something someone else will spot - I'm hoping so! I believe Thomas DILL had two sisters - Catherine and Lizzie/Elizabeth - who would have been born between 1861-66 (other sibs were b. in Linn Co., MO; parents Elizabeth & Geo W. divorced in 1866~8 and lost me). Thomas d. at the home of his nephew, Walter MILLER, whose mother was apparently Lizzie DILL MILLER. I can't establish details of Lizzie's birth so if I can sort out Catherine DILL POTTER and/or Walter POTTER it would be hugely helpful. If someone has access to the KC Directories would they please look for Catherine and Walter? Other ideas, please? Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Vanette, My St. Clair family came from Bedford, Fayette, Roanoke, and Botetourt Counties. The St. Clair's seem to move from the 1850's through the 1860's following the census information. ************************************** See what's new at http://www.aol.com

I didn't find her remarriage because I was looking for Carroll even though I looked for Carrell in the death records. What part of VA were they from? A bunch of my distant relatives went from Lee Co. VA to Jackson Co. I don't know why exactly, but they all went about the same time, in the mid-1800s. Then a lot of them were forced to leave because of Order No. 11 during the Civil War -- the ones who were, or were suspected of being, Southern sympathizers. Just wondered if yours were also in Lee Co. Vanette ************************************** See what's new at http://www.aol.com

Perhaps someone has cemetery records that will help. I probably won't be going to KC again for a while (just went last week) or I'd offer to check for you. Are the elder St. Clairs in Blue Springs Cemetery? I can't remember if there is more than one cemetery in Blue Springs, but the way the death certificates read I would assume it's the big cemetery there. If no one comes up with anything, I'll try to remember to poke around next time I'm there if I have time. I don't get much done but lunch with a friend when I go for just one day. Thanks Vanette.....I Have the death records for Sarah St. Clair, also Dora and Henry N. Lynch. They are all in the 1910-1955 index. Henry St. Clair died in 1907, so he isn't in the index. Thanks For trying to help. Yes this is a Big Puzzle, and it drives me nuts sometimes. I will Keep Searching maybe one Day I will Find Answers.
