    2. The KC paper in 1911 was (and still is) The Kansas City Star.? There was also the The Kansas City Times (the evening edition of the Kansas City Star).? The Kansas City Times has not been published since 1990. I believe the trolley cars were electric, but I could be wrong about this. Wm. and Margaret married in 1906 and their first child was born 1907 in MO.,so it is possible that they met and married in Jackson County, MO. You mentioned you are descended from David and his first wife, Mary Knowles. To my knowledge, they had 3 children--my gggrandfather Samuel, John and Elizabeth. I would appreciate having any info you can share about Samuel's siblings. Do you have any photos of David, Mary or their children? I have traced Mary's family to about 1740 in VA. They tended to re-use the same names. A Margaret Malone signed off as a witness on the death certificate of Timothy (her father). My records show that she was born 1/9/1884 and married William Malone on 8/5/1906 and died 12/20/1960. Many of Thomas McNerney's (b. cerca 1808) children made detours before heading west. Its very confusing and the records are very sketchy. The only locations I know for sure are County Limerick---New York---Wheeling, Oh---Kansas City---From there some headed to southern parts of Mo and Ks, others further west to Seattle. My husbands father was Raymond McNerney (b. 1910, son of Patrick Joseph (b. 1879), son of Timothy (m. Mary Bennett in Geneva NY) (b. 1850 Ireland) who came over with his father Timothy. One of the McNerney's went to Limerick in search of clues and found that the name in Ireland was McEnery and that most of the records had been destroyed in a civil war in 1850 in a town named Kinna! rd. 3. Mo.Sos Death certificates are $1.00 each five may be ordered at one time with a stamped self addressed envelope and money order ,and you must use the file number from the site to get them at that price. Otherwise it is a search and you need a circa date, full name and MORE money about $12 each.Sase. The ones on site are just like the originals but not everyone is on site. I highly recommend you go to site and look it over carefully , make a list of your needs and spend a day downloading. After you have one second page, you will want to set your printer for page one only, multiple paged entries may have amendments on page 3 or 4. Coroners reports are elsewhere on the same archives site. Her father Timothy McNerney, uncle Michael McNerney and Grandfather Thomas McNerney with wife Mary Enright (and also Mary who settled in Geneva NY, Patrick in Zanesville OH, Bridget and John in Seattle WA and Thomas in Horton KS); all came to the US around 1865 from Glin, Limerick Ireland. Not sure where they arrived but settled in Rensselaer county. Many joined the Railroad and moved west. I have traced them to Wheeling, Belmont Co., Oh in the 1880 and then to the Kansas city area. I believe Thomas McNerney's father was named Patrick McInerney (b. cerca 1780's) and from County Clare Ireland who married a Katherine Langan. Author: Annita98 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.missouri.counties.jackson/6188.2/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Yes, there is a Leeds Cemetery in Jackson Co., MO. It is near the Arrowhead (Chiefs) football stadium, just off I435. We went just today to try and find it, with no luck. It was a Potter's Field, were the poor were buried. My 2nd great grandfather, Henry Stephens, was buried there. He died in Feb. 1926 but wasn't buried until May 1926. If you look up his death certificate, you will see that he was buried at Leeds Cemetery. I am waiting to hear from a distant cousin, who, I believe, visited this cemetery years ago. I am hoping to get better directions from him. But I can tell you, from what I saw today, it is not a good part of town and it is very overgrown with weeds, brush, etc. and there's lots of illegal dumping in the area. The GM Leeds plant, by coincidence, where my dad worked many years, is very near where the cemetery is said to be located. All that time we had no idea his great grandfather was buried that close to where he went to work each day. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. 2. Hello Rooters, If you are on other lists, I'm sorry that you may receive a repeat of this post. I would just like these photos to find their way back home. I would appreciate it if you could please contact me directly I came across two photos at a local Humane Society thrift shop. One with the picture of C. H. Butrick, Sr. Mounted on an oval photo card. He looks to be in his early to middle 20s. The studio name, city and year are very faint. Looks to be "Shields, 1903, K.C." Not sure whether it is KC, MO or KC, KS but, thought it worth the posting on this list just in case. Photo #2 is a simple 8" X 10" with "CH Butrick, Aunt Ethel Butrick" written on the back. There are two children in the picture. Girl about 3 yrs of age and a boy about 4 years of age but, no names given. If any of you know this family I will happily send copies for you to see. If they are a lost part of your family I'm more than happy to send these pictures to you.
