Author: kfanning134 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.missouri.counties.jackson/6255.2.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Hi Gary, thanks for your help again. I wondered if there wass a legal reason she wasn't reported. I doubt that she was naturalized -- @ 80-90 years old it seems doubtful. But will check this. Yes, I would be interested the 1915 Directory listing -- this would have been just before she died -- maybe even published after her death. She was a widow before coming to the U.S. -- probably for a long time considering the mortaility rates at the time -- so finding her a widow of "John" is intresting and goes toward a theory. Her husband may have gone by "Jack", a common nickname for "John" (ala John/Jack Kennedy(. I've assumed John Berry/Barry, Sr never lived in the U.S. Do you have my email from the last time you assisted me??? Many many thanks again for your help, Gary. (Have you checked if she became a US citizen?) Her death certificate stated she lived in KC, MO for six years. I checked the city directories from 1910 thru 1915, finding her in just the 1915 directory listed as a widow of John. I can e-mail you the copy I made. 1. [MOJACKSO] Where is ANN BERRY/BARRY in 1910???
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: kfanning134 Surnames: Berry, Barry, Moran Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.missouri.counties.jackson/6255/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Anna (Johanna) Theresa Barry/Berry arrived in the U.S. from Listowel, Co. Kerry, Ireland @ the age of 80 in April, 1909 in the company of her son John Berry who was about 40 years of age. Their destination was Anna's dau Anna Theresa Moran (Mr. Daniel J. Moran) residing @ 2209 Troost. Her exact age is uncertain but she is thought to be born between 1821 and 1830. According to the passenger manifest, Anna Barry/Berry had cataracts and poor dentition. Ann died in Kansas City in 1915 in the home of dau Anna Moran and is buried at Mt. Washington Forever in Independence. But where is she in 1910?? She is not with dau Anna and Daniel Moran's (spelled "Maran" in the census) family in Kansas City nor can I find her anywhere! I've tried every sort criteria I can think of. Son John is not found either -- I always assumed he went back to Ireland but have no idea if that is correct. I think dau Anna was the only child that came to the U.S. but I am not absolutely certain of that. Unless, Granny Anna was locked in the attic when the census taker came in 1910 -- I have no clue where she might be. If she was briefly hospitalized would she have been counted??? Would there have been any reason for the family to NOT enumerator her?? Any ideas/inspiration very welcome! K Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. 3. Sally FINNEY the best source would be www.mcpl.lib.mo.us/gen 816-252-7228 or write Genealogy 317 W 24 Highway Independence, Mo. 64050 Ask for a cemetery lookup and if they know which funeral home is local. The town is in Jackson Co. Mo. but I am doubtful if they have a sexton or city hall. My personal phone book collection does not have Sibley listed. Try Speaks www.speakschapel.com Buckner chapel 816-659-5555 Ah, Sibley city Hall 816-650-9515 or 3636 Sibley Christian Church 249-6144 -----Original Message-----

I've looked in several phone books and searched the Internet but can't find either an address of telephone number. Are you in the Jackson County area? If not, I am going to be there for a few days next week and might have time to check for you (I read the reply to your query that said the books are at the park). Won't promise at this point because I'm not sure how long we'll be there. I probably will be at the genealogical section of Mid-Continent library and I may be able to find something there.
