Deputy US District Attorney DRAFFEN of Kansas City prosecuted the case and brought out some startling and sensational testimony. The young lady was held to the Federal grand jury. --The Central Christian church congregation held a reception last evening at the home of Dr and Mrs. E.J. ATKINSON complimentary to Rev. VAN KIRK of Chicago who will preach fro the Central Christina Church tomorrow morning and evening. Dr and Mrs. ATKINSON were assisted during the evening by Mr. and Mrs. John T. HARDING and Mr. and Mrs. Ed ATKINSON. --Walter KORB was in town last night in search of his father, George KORB. The KORBs reside three miles south of Ellis. Young KORB said that his father left home yesterday morning saying he would walk to Nevada and return by noon. As he had not returned when night set in, the family became apprehensive and search at once instituted. The missing man has a son residing in this city - Grant KORB - and it was supposed that he would be found there, but nothing had been seen or heard from him by the family. Grast [sic] is a Missouri Pacific fireman and was absent on his run when his brother called there last night. Inquiry was also made at W.J. JONES' store where Mr. KORB does most of his trading and where he never fails to call when in town, but nothing had been seen of him there. No reason was given for Mr. KORB's mysterious disappearance. He is a well to do farmer and highly esteemed by all who know him. It is feared he was overcome by illness on the road coming to town, as it could not be learned that he got here at all. It is to be hoped he has been found by his distressed family at some neighbor's house where he probably stopped when he found he was sick. **Source: The "Nevada Daily Mail" newspaper as transcribed by Leslie Bridges Kohler **Copyright Notice -- All transcriptions in this email are copyrighted by their creator.
