Surnames: GOVREAU Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/zMB.2ACI/911 Message Board Post: I just returned from a trip to Missouri and I stopped by the old Ursuline Academy in Arcadia to take a picture of the grave of one of my family members who is buried there. Her name was Mother Modesta Govreau and she professed to her religion in 1894. After spending 65 years in the service of others, she passed away in 1959 . I never knew her but since researching my Govreau family I have found an interest in her life as well as an interest in the lives of the Govreau family. I visited the Academy on a Sunday and there was no one around except some people working on the restoration of the church. I walked in the door of the church and looked around the entire area. Although in need of repair and some TLC, one could just imagine the majesty of the place in its glory days. The entire campus will need alot of work but it will be well worth it. I read other stories on this Iron County Board regarding the old Academy and I just wanted to say thank you to all of those who c! ontributed their stories and rememberances of the place. I almost felt like I was there too
