Have you looked for Robert or Alice (do you know her maiden name?) on the 1880 census? It's free at http://www.familysearch.org (Latter Day Saints website). Click on Search at the top of the screen, then on census on the left menu bar... no pictures, but you can browse next or previous family & find if any relatives are close by.
