I am looking for family connections to: Ellis Campbell (b 1804 VA-d 1881 MO)& his wife Elizabeth Young (b abt 1814 TN or AL - d before 1870 MO). They would have been in Jackson county AL by 1832, when they had a son named Matthew Campbell (17 on 1850 Shannon Co MO census, no relation given, assuming child). They also had a son named James Mehlander (Millender, etc)(b 1835 Jackson co AL per CW military record). Next we have Ambrose (b 1836 AL per 1850 Shannon co MO census, again no relation given for anyone on this census). The next child is born in Ripley county MO in 1839-40, a daughter named Dorcas Campbell (b MO on 1840 & 50 census)NOTE: on 1850 Shannon county MO census she is listed as Derias and a Male.. we have her well documented.. female who married Freeman (Firman)Hayward in 1880 in MO. Our connection is through James Mehlander (Mel) Campbell. Mel married 1st Nancy Welborn (b 1840-41 MO d Nov 1874 in MO), 2nd wife was Sarah Jane Sutton (b 1858-59 MO d 1906 MO. James Mel had the following children: by Nancy: (years aprox, unless stated) Elias b 1859 MO, md Mary Crossling Elizabeth b 1856 died young Ewing b 1871 md Jessie Taylor, 2nd Sophia Browers James (Jim, JW, WJ,etc.) b May 1866 MO d, 1931, buried Livingston, Polk county TX NOTE: This is the person we wish to find descendant's for.
