A CORRECTED ACCOUNT. HOGAN, Mo., Dec. 13, 1885. Ed. Register.--In your last issue I notice an item in regard to William Bollinger's sad death on December 4th in which some mistakes occur. On the date named, he, with Mr. James Willson [Wilson ?] and son, was engaged hauling lumber from Coleman 's mill to Berryman Switch, from which place they were returning about 5 P.M. When at a point within half mile of the mill, he was struck by a small falling tree, knocking him off the wagon. Mr. Willson, who was in advance, ran back and found him lying, his face to the ground, apparently dead, with his head and face covered with blood. He soon revived, however, and spoke a few words, but could not stand. Mr. Willson then laid him down, and ran to the wagon for a coat to put under his head, but before he could return, Billie got up and made a few steps, then sank down. He told Willson to hold him up and not let him strangle; he then said, "Lord have mercy - have mercy - on me," and asked Willson what was the matter, and asked hi! m for a handkerchief to wipe the blood off. Willson sent his son down to the mill to give the alarm. Everything was stopped, and soon all hands were on the mountain at the place of accident. It was near dark and the wind very high. A messenger was sent for Drs. Farrar and Berryman, also one for his wife. He was then carried to his sister's house, near the mill, where all was done that could be done, but he was then unconscious and died at 11 P.M. His wife and brothers arrived about 9 P.M., but he did not recognize them. Deceased was 33 years old, and leaves a wife and three small children to mourn his sad death, besides numerous other relatives and friends. Billie was not a member of any church, but was a pious, honest, good man, and his friends hope all is well with him, believing that a merciful God never turned aside such a prayer as his. A FRIEND.
