FROM THE SOUTH END. Ed. Register--If a few lines from the southern woods of old Iron will be worthy of inserting in the columns of the REGISTER, I will take a pleasure in noting some few items. We are blessed with abundance of mud and rain. Winter, we presume, is withholding her heavy strokes to knock off the face of spring on its first appearance. Saw-mills are numerous through here, and they are running a steady business, not-withstanding the bad roads. Our hills and valleys are being divested of their immense growth of fine oak, pine and other timber. The report is rumored that our merchant of Brunot, C. L. Stevenson, has sold his establishment to Messrs. White and Shelton. Mr. Editor, I had the honor as well as the pleasure of being a delegate to the county meeting of the F. A. of Iron County, and I can say there was business transacted by the Alliance which, if kept in operation, will be beneficial to every farmer and laborer in the county. We wish to say the F. A. is not trying to work for the benefit of the few that belong to our order alone but for the benefit and upbuilding of all men who are recognized as farmers and laborers. And we acknowledge we are weak as we are and many men are still outside of the order who could be legal and helpful members. My dear friends, let me say to you our intentions, our constitution, our laws, are all open before the world. Examine them and if you think they are just and needful give us your aid.
