Larry has turned up more than I could! -Kay Larry, This is wonderful! I hadn't tried google - it certainly brought up different sites from those I found on other searches. I was amazed at how nice this family webpage was! The author is John Croxton, who happens to be the same gentleman asking about Walter Croxton and the pottery business developed by Shepard in Iron Co. John Croxton - Does your info on the webpage reflect the data to the best of your knowledge, or have you discovered additional information on Walter? I noticed that his death is listed as July 1861 in one area and July 1862 in another. This 1861-62 date range, plus the fact that an IL burial is listed for him makes me believe that the burial in IL is only a memorial next to his wife's burial. I want to be certain that you are still trying to get to the bottom of what actually happened to the remains of the deceased employees of the potteries in Iron County, including Walter Croxton, Jr. and that you hope to find out more about the Iron Co. pottery business and place of attack by the bushwackers. If you have never joined a mailing list, I will gladly assist you in doing so, because I highly recommend that you subscribe to this Iron Co. list. This is the area where you will most likely find the answers you seek. [Fingers crossed!] Your family webpage was very well done and I am envious! (-: Other surnames you have listed there are names I recognize from a bit of earlier exploring. It makes sense to now know that they are related surnames. -Kay {MehdiFakhar@aol.com} From: http://www.rootsweb.com/~ilschuyl/wcroxton.html > 4. WALTER2 CROXTON, JR.
