There are period where the b/d report was not required or the people did not report it anyway. My people were wealthy when the husband had his first family. Only one of the six children have b records. With the second family, most of whom were born prior to 1910. Three were born between Jan 1909 and Dec 1910. The one in the middle died almost at childbirth. The two who lived could not understand why there were no records. I once had a copy of a letter sent asking for b records when these two were young. The archieves can be looked at on-line now and see if there was anything at all. Some counties are worse than others. Dad was b. 13 Jan 1887 and his mother Sarah Francis Henderson Mitcalf Midkiff died before 1905 when he remarried.
