Dear Marge Campbell; I am trying to find out about an artist, Vincent Kaufman. I have one of his works. Is there a St. Francis/St. Francis River in Arcadia, Missouri. I have been able to decipher the handwriting on the back of the painting and it says painted near St. Francis, Arcadia, Missouri? I am trying to find out if Vincent Kaufman did art works in St. Louis or Arcadia. He died there in 1978 and did an art work 1964 but I have found no other work by him. Social Security Number. Name: Vincent Kaufman Born: 23 Apr 1891 Died: Nov 1978 SSN: 179-22-6843 Last Residence: 63123 St Louis, St Louis, Missouri Last Benefit: 63126 St Louis, St Louis, Missouri State (Year) SSN issued: Pennsylvania (Before 1951 ) Any ideas if he belonged to an Allied Artist outfit or painted and sold oil paintings there? I really do not know who to ask there since I am here in PA. The library here has locals listed and they do not have him yet I do have one of his works for 1964. Any help or ideas would be appreciated. There are kin to him, I believe here in the Somerset and Cambria Co., PA area, but no one I have talked to knows of him but I did meet a grandniece of his here and did not get her name at the time. The painting was dated and signed 10/29/1964, "LAZY RIVER." Any help would be appreciated. I tried by phone but it clicks off at that end for some reason or other? Emails do not go through either? I found a Saphronia Singleton who died in 1917 in Washington Co., Mo. Which is near Iron ounty. She is buried in Old Mines, Mo. Perhaps she was married after Harris. -----Original Message----- From: moiron-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:moiron-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of gc-gateway@rootsweb.com Sent: Thursday, May 31, 2007 6:24 PM To: MOIRON-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [MOIRON] Iron county deaths index vol 1 look ups This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Thank you so very much Jeannette: I am currently corresponding with Kenneth Bird (a Boos descendant) and I'm sure a relative of the Carol Boos who md. Anna Caroline Mund. I have found a record of their marriage at the Immanuel Lutheran Ch. at Pilot Knob (where our Gt. grandfather Frederich Mund (& also brother of Caroline) & Mina Kohlhagge/Klob was married in March of 1865) Two of the witnesses at the wedding for Carl Boos & Caroline Mund were Frederich Mund & Johann Boos. There just has to be a family connection here!!!! ;-) In that 1870 census Pilot Knob is where we found Elias Mund & 2 of his younger children living with Charles Boss & wife Caroline. The name seemed to be spelled Boss from then on...that adds to the confusion. Then in looking through some Iron Co. Marriage books (by Hist. soc. at Ellington, MO) I find that John Fry md Caroline Boss on 24 Jan. 1887. I've been given a death date of 27 April 1876 for Charles Boss so in my mind, all of this seems to add up logically. I have asked Kenneth Bird to send me his postal mailing address so that I can send him some of these copies. Most people do something special on their Holidays...me, I just continue to work on genealogy!!!! ;-) Thank you so much for all of the wonderful Boos info you sent me. Take care & God Bless. Clara I was viewing the http://www.rootsweb.com/~momadiso/people/boos_john.html & saw a picture of John Boos with the Mine LaMotte, MO. Ball team circa 1899, which was submitted by Kenneth Bird. SO, I immediately contacted him about the possible family connection. He is not sure, but I think it just almost has to be because Boos is not a very common surname.

John Boos 1840-5 Dec 1868. John H. Boos died 23 Sept 1872 age 1yr 6mo 3days, son of F H and MA. John Boos 1840-5 Dec 1868. Mary Ann Boos, 2 Sept 1850-19 Feb 1881 dau of Amos Fuss (Voss) & Antonette (Shermer), Mary Fuss (Voss) md. Frederick Boos on 24 Nov 1870. Mary Eliz. HELP!!!! Are there some early German Catholic Church records that I can access in the search for the BOOS (Boss) immigrants who came to the U.S. from Southern Germany in the late 1830's. Anne Caroline Mond (MUND) married Carl Boos on Jan. 26 1865 in Iron Co...performed by Charles Grober. I'm trying to determine the parentage of Carl Boos. John & Frederich Boos lived in the Mine La Motte/Fredericktown area I think, but the Munds also owned property in Madison Co. during the 1860's. Both families were from Germany...Boos came from southern Germany (Kurpenner & Braunschweig and Elias Mund came from Brunswick in 1852. Thank you for any help you can give me!!! Clara W.
