Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/zMB.2ACI/145.3.1.1 Message Board Post: It looks like this is the wrong Rachel Brown as my ggrandmother, Rachel Brown, is living in St. Louis in 1920 per the 1920 census. In the 1910 census she is living with Havilah Brown in St Louis and her son James is about 4. She did have at least 2 other marriages (relationships?). Thanks for your research. It means we need to keep searching in 1930 for another Rachel Brown.

    2. John W Konvalinka
    3. Genealogists, particularly those interested in the use of technology, will meet in St. Louis from 22-24 January 2004 for NGS GENTECH 2004. December 1 is the deadline for the "early bird" registration discount. Since 1993, GENTECH has been the national conference for people interested in GENealogy and TECHnology. In 2002 GENTECH strengthened its infrastructure and expanded its role by becoming a division of the National Genealogical Society. Each year the conference has featured a panel of nationally known speakers who have addressed themselves to every aspect of the use of computer and Internet technology to support genealogical research - to meet the needs of advanced users as well as those just beginning to use technology in their research. This year there will be a special Librarian's Pre-Conference at NGS GENTECH Thursday, January 22, 2004. Details of this special Pre-Conference are at: www.slcl.lib.mo.us/slcl/sc/gentech04/precon-schedule.htm. My second great grandmother is Margaret Jane BARTON, daughter of George Washington BARTON and Catherine REESE, married Marquis D' Lafayette LEWIS, the son of James Marion LEWIS and Emiline SULLINS. Your John Wayne is a grandson of John BARTON and Mary "Polly" EARLS. George Washington is the son of the John and Mary. John Wayne BARTON married Sarah SMITH( born 9/18/1871, died July 1901) before 1896. John Wayne BARTON married second Louisa ALMO, the daughter of George ALMO and Anne STINNETT. Louisa was born 1/6/1880 and died 10/20/1969. Sarah, as is Louisa- apparently remarried an ASHER, is buried in the Barton Cemetery, Oates, Reynolds County, Missouri. http://www.rootsweb.com/~moreynol/barton.htm The children are of John Wayne BARTON and Sarah Smith are Richard "Dick" (married my great grandaunt Novie Cecil LEWIS), Easter Louise, Lee and Viena Virgie.---- I am apparently missing a William and you Lee but I could be wrong about that. The children of John Wayne BARTON and Louisa ALMO are Joseph Legion, Velva, Milton, Levi, and Ida Belle. Viena Virgie BARTON was born 11/6/1898 in Reynolds County, Missouri and died 3/11/1988. She married John ALDRIDGE 3/15/1920.
