    3. Traci - Just a short note. Anne Siler and I found in Salt Lake the proof that Jacob Chism was the father of Sarah Chism md to John Williams. They were in the probate files in the distribution records. I have it somewhere = I will have to dig it out. But she was named (and John Williams her husband was also named) in two of the reports for distribution - I think I remember that one had to do with partitioning the slaves. I have found in my Ancestry database for marriages two marriages for a Mahala Williams - one was in Howard Co to Howard Chism whom we have talked about; the second was in Boone Co to Martin Amos 8 Nov 1835. I have no idea who she was. The reason I believe that Howard Chism married the Mahala Williams who was the daughter of Colden is that his sister Sarah Chism married Mahala's brother John. I have relooked at the record from the Chism Bible which several people (including myself) used for the death date of Mahala Williams Chism. What I see now is "Mahala Chism Departed this life --------- 1837 aged 3 years" There is a spot before the 3 but it does not look to me as if there was a number before it. Could this Mahala have been a child of someone? I can scan this for anyone who is interested. I am sure that Mahala died before Howard married Emily Cline (maybe Young) 16 May 1850. I wonder - if Howard died before the 1860 census, could Emily have moved back to Cooper County where her family probably was? Perhaps I should look there for the Chism children and Emily.
