    3. Dare I ask who Uriah J., Ann E., and Martha J. Williams would be in the list below? I don't have any Ann E's, and the only Uriah J. and Martha J. I have are children of Colden J. who is on the other side of the lawsuit. Plus I think Uriah J. would have been a minor and possibly Martha was married by 1860. 3. This may create more questions than answers, but here goes. I'd like to ask the Williams researchers to compare the following census records. They are the 1850 and 1860 census records for Colden Jef Williams. 1850 US Census, pg 261A, Prairie Twp, Randolph co, MO, 2 Nov 1850. Dwelling 862, Family 862. C. J. Williams, 39 year old white male, farmer, $1000, KY Margaret Williams, 37 year old white female, KY Mary Williams, 15 year old white female, MO Margaret Williams, 12 year old white female, MO William Williams, 9 year old white male, MO Euriah Williams, 6 year old white male, MO Jeffers Williams, 6 year old white male, MO Eliza Williams, 4 year old white female, MO Tailer Williams, 2 year old white male, MO Euphemia Williams, 1 year old white female, MO Martha Williams, 4 year old white female, MO. 1860 US Census, Prairie Twp, Randolph county, MO, 13 June 1860. C. J. Williams, 49 year old white male, farmer, $7200-$16,123, KY Mary J. Marshall, 26 year old white female, MO Wm. J. Williams, 20 year old white male, MO Uriah Williams, 18 year old white male, MO Eliga Williams, 16 year old white male, MO Elizabeth Williams, 11 year old white female, MO Taylor Williams, 14 year old white male, MO Sebastion Williams, 9 year old white male, MO James ? Williams, 6 year old white male, MO Uriah J. Williams, 17 year old white male, farmer, MO Martha Williams, 15 year old white female, MO This is the way I see them. In the 1850, there are a Uriah and a Jeffers in this household, both age 6. There is an Eliza and a Martha who are both age 4. And then there is Euphemia who is a year old. These are the children I want to concentrate on. I thought at first that we were dealing with two sets of twins. Then I compared it to the 1860 census. In 1860, the children who I believe were Uriah and Jeffers, have become Uriah age 18 and Uriah J (Jeffers?) age 17. This means they aren't twins. And there are two Uriah's in this household. Eliza Williams, daughter,. age 4 in 1850, has become Elija Williams, male, and age 16 in 1860. Martha, age 4 in 1850 is Martha age 15 in 1860. Tailer age 2 in 1850 is now Taylor age 14 in 1860. And Euphemia, age 1in 1850 has become Elizabeth, age 11 in 1860. Consider this possibility. Suppose it is Uriah, and not Uriah J., who is the son of Colden Jef Williams. And suppose that Uriah J., Martha and Euphemia/Elizabeth are not the children of Colden? Suppose they are the Uriah J, Martha J. and Ann E Williams in the suit, AND that they are the children of Sebastian Williams. I don't know if Sebastian had children. But he was married in 1841 to the sister of Colden's wife. Sebastian didn't die until abt Sep of 1847. If his wife was pregnant at the time of his death, the child could have been born in mid 1848 and could have been the one year old child on the 1850 census. Both Martha and Uriah J. would also fall within the realm of possibility for Sebastian to have fathered them. If this is the case, I have no idea where their mother is, or even if she is living. Nor do I know who the guardians of these children might be. It's possible that they had chosen someone besides Colden to act as their guardian, and that is why they were on the other side of the issue. They would all have been underage as well. I know that this is a lot of wild speculation on my part, and there is no proof to back it up. I just wanted everyone to think about the possibilities. I always jumped to the conclusion that Sebastian had no children, because I couldn't find any for him in 1850. If his wife had also died, or had remarried, it's very possible that the children would be in the household of Colden and his wife. Does anyone have probate on Sebastian? He was living in Randolph county at the time of his death. All I have seen is the transcript done by Ellsberry and it doesn't say much. We need the settlement. Found on Ancestry.com, 7 Sep 2002.
