Hello all - and Kathy Bowlin. Looking through her long ago posts of 1919 found this: Friday, 25 July 1919, Vol 33. No 14--HAROLD QUINSBERRY DEAD-Harold Quinsberry entered into the sleep of death Saturday night at 10 o'clock in the home of his mother Mrs. J. M. Dougherty, nine miles south of Higbee. He was 18 years old. He formerly lived here and has many friends in Moberly to regret that his life was cut short while yet in its early promise. He was known as a good boy and industrious. Like so many youths, although he was not of the age to be called into service, he could not resist the personal urge to do his part for his country and so became a sailor. While his earthly days were brief, they were creditably lived. He is survived by his father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. James Dougherty; a sister, Miss Thelma, and two brothers, Wilbur Quinsberry and Orville Farrell. The funeral service was held this afternoon at 2 o'clock in Antioch church, conducted by Rev. Henson. Burial in adjoining cemetery--Moberly Democrat. I feel sure this should be Jefferson Miles Dougherty as the "father" as he was on the 1920 census in Howard Co with Willie his wife (age 52) stepdaughter Thelma (age 12) and mother in law Mrs Marry Ball (age 82). Willie was first married age 23 per the 1930 census. It would appear to me that she married Farrell, then Quisenberry (that is how I have seen it in all other records in Howard Co) and then Jeff Dougherty. I had looked in the Howard Co marriage index for Quisenberry/Ball marriage with none. Looked in the Randolph Co marriage index for the same, with no result. Although mine stops about 1892 so could have been missed in the listings. Does anyone have any information to confirm or deny my suppositions? Or to add to them? Who was husband Quisenberry? Who was husband Farrell? And when for any of these? I did not find Jeff marrying in Howard County to any Willie anybody. Only his first marriage in 1885 to Martha Frances Dougherty. Carolyn
