Friday, 1 Aug 1919, Vol 33. No 15--Eugene Burton, Clyde Smith, Ermine Hare and Arch Middleton, members of the local Boy Scouts, in order to prepare themselves for future scout duty, decided, the first of the week to rough it for several days. The boys hiked to Yates Tuesday where they spent, in small comfort, the day and night. Wednesday morning, W. F. Jones, on his way to Higbee, surprised the camp, took the four captive and brought them to Higbee. They reported the Yates neighborhood free of enemies and everything quiet. Their only complaint was of the mosquitoes which were vicious. Otherwise they had a good time. Kathy Bowlin, Additions, corrections, comments welcome.
