He married (2) Gladys May Floyd Aft. 1930, daughter of David Floyd and Sabie Dennis. She was born May 29, 1907 in Randolph County, Missouri, and died February 12, 1989 in Moberly, Missouri. He married (1) Dorothy Lucille Smothers January 11, 1941 in Fayette, Howard County, Missouri; born August 30, 1920 in Mississippi; died September 28, 1997 in Fayette, Howard County, Missouri. Dorothy Perkins Quinley, 77 of Fayette died Sunday, Sept. 28, 1997, at her daughter's home. Mrs. Quinley was born Aug. 30, 1920 in Yazoo, Mississippi, to Elhanon and Sallie May Dodson Smothers. She owned and managed Perkins Nursing Home for 25 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Fayette and served as a volunteer for the foster grandparents program. Survivors include three daughters, Helen Lucille King, Margaret Lee Clayton, and Linda Mae Perkins, all of Fayette; a sister Margaret Lambert of Carbondale, Ks.; a brother Halen Smothers, of Macon; eight grandchildren; Lucinda Akins, Howard Eugene Akins Jr., Jimmy John Akins, Gleandell H. Clayton Jr., Stacey L. Clayton, Kimberly S. Clayton, Rebecca L. Cleek, and John L. Holtzclaw; ten great-grand-children, Gabrielle Fournier, Danielle Jones, Kevin Akins, Katrina Akins, Nathan Clayton, Kayla Clayton, Nickolas Marshall, Christina Cleek, Dakota Cleek and Jana Holtzclaw, and a number of neices and nephews. She was proceeded in death by her parnets and three brothers. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 1, at Friemonth-Freese Funeral Home in Fayette with John Savage and Clayton Stockdall officiating. Burial will be in Fayette City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Sept 30, at the funeral home. Howard Akins Jr., Jimmy John Akins, Gleandell Clayton Jr., Stacey Clayton, John L.
