    3. The Pettijohn-Crawford Funeral Home, 1405 Nebraska St., Mound City MO, keeps an updated map of burials in the Mound City Mount Hope Cemetery. The Mount Hope Cemetery is not always cataloged by burials, mostly by lot owners, so it is sometimes hard to find someone. Pettijohn-Crawford Funeral Home has good records. Yes, the owner of Crouse Motors Chevrolet, 302 Nebraska St. in Mound City, would also, have a map. He is on the Cemetery board. Both Gone Home I and Gone Home II are in the Mound City Public Library. I am thinking they are only open in the afternoons and, maybe, all day on Saturday. The Gone Home books are for sale at the Mound City Exchange Bank, the Mound City News office, and at the 505 Trading Co. Antique Store. You can, also, purchase them in Oregon, at the Oregon Public Library and at Scroggins Hardware, or at the Wright Hardware, in Craig. Also, the Holt County Historical Society Methodist Church Library/Museum, located at 115 Ada Street, Fortescue, (9 miles from Mound City) is open each Wednesday, 9 am to 3 pm. Histories, Genealogy records, and all Society publications are located, there. The phone number, is 660-442-5949. You can leave a message if noone is there. The mailing address is: HCHS, P.O. Box 55, Mound City MO 64470. Someone would look, on Wednesdays, to see what they could find. Hope this will help you! Liz Burnsides, Secretary, HCHS

    2. It would be really great if someone in the area would let the library staff know about Pettijohn-Crawford's records or even insert a blurb inside the cover of their copy of "Gone Home". The map at Crouse Motors worked for me, but names of those who hadn't bought lots by the early 1930s aren't on that one. Darn - I was at Rulo, Nebraska Thursday, could have been there on Wednesday and gone to the facility in Fortescue!
