I know his mother Emma (myrtle) was a school teacher. He had an aunt named Vinta that lived in Craig. Leonard's dad was named Emmett. Leonard was a salesman.

My MEYER family spent some time in Holt County in the 1870's and while there it seems that JOHN ADOLPH MEYER "adopted" a boy named Ulyssus PERSON, b. 1872 in MO. There is no information about the boy's parents. This is according to the 1880 census when the family had moved on to Kansas. While it is possible that he was "adopted" in Kansas, I am wondering if the PERSON family is listed in the Gone Home book or, perhaps, anywhere near my family in the 1876 Holt County Special Census where they were found on pg 19, 60th Twp, 37th Range? Can anyone look these things up for me. The boy is not a direct ancester and, as far as I can tell, he disappears after 1880 from the MEYER family...there was no mention of him that we know of.
