    3. I am looking for anyone who might have information about the family of William and Polly Wilson who moved to Holt County from Franklin Co, MO between the 1850 and 1860 censuses. William Wilson Jan 1798-24 Mar 1864 Mary Ann (Polly) Dec 1798-10 Nov 1880 1. James Wilson 1829 2. Robert Wilson 1831 3. Humble Wilson 1833 4. Nancy Wilson 1835 5. Andrew Wilson 1838 6. Henry Wilson 1840 7. William A. Wilson 1842 All of these children were living with them in 1850, but there could have been older children who had already left home. William and Polly are both listed in "Gone Home" as buried in Caton Cemetery in Benton Township. Polly's surname might be Varner. James is a strong candidate for being my gg-grandfather, James Lee Wilson, who was born 1830 and married Barilla Proctor in Holt Co in 1855. They immediately began homesteading across the River in Brown Co, KS. Humble is a probable ancestral surname. William Jr. was still with them in 1860, but I don't know what became of any of the others unless James is my ancestor. This family may be related to the Fitzwater family since they relocated together and I have also found a Humble Fitzwater.

    3. Rick, I researched at Clayton Library yesterday and looked up your Wilsons in Holt Co., MO. I didn't find too much, but here's some. Also, did you see the information I posted from Ancestry.com? Holt County, Missouri Special Census 1876 [page # is from census record, not from the book] p 214 R. M. Wilson and wife, Melinda [this would be the son of your William & Mary Ann (Varner?) and children John S., Alex J., Robert N., Sarah E., Mary A., Samuel. p 212 I found a James Wilson living alone; could be the son of Robert and Melinda (he appears with then on the 1860 census and would be the right age). I found three (!) Mary Wilsons living alone - all over the age of 45 (the only upper age designation in this census. Finally, in "Marriage Book B, pages 130 - 133 for years 1860 - 1870 [Holt Co., MO] William A. Wilson (still living with William & Polly in 1860) married Susan K. Hudson on 1 Mar 1869 Rick, Hopefully, with the above info and the census records posted 9/27, you have a litle more to go on. Kind Regards, Joyce PS I didn't find Humble anywhere... ----- Original Message ----- From: R Wilson<mailto:genealogy@Jerkwater.net> To: MOHOLT-L@rootsweb.com<mailto:MOHOLT-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, September 27, 2004 8:20 PM Subject: [MOHOLT] William and Polly Wilson I am looking for anyone who might have information about the family of William and Polly Wilson who moved to Holt County from Franklin Co, MO between the 1850 and 1860 censuses.
