    3. I have been researching the Hahns in Holt Co. I do have this Thomas and Lydia Hahn along with some of their children (but don't have a William which is very possible that I don't have a complete list of their children). This particular Hahn is pretty far removed from my direct line but there is some stuff in the Gone Home book including the mention of a Brownlee's Mill. Did you need a look up in the Gone Home book? Let me know. Marla

    1. [MOHOLT] MURRAY/KUNKLE/HAHN
    2. The Curtis Family
    3. The Levi Kunkle family who lived in Holt, MO before moving to Doniphan Co., KS abt 1877 seems to be popping up in my research lately from different angles. Daughter Ora (b. Dec 1870) married Jefferson D. BROWNLEE (b. Jun 1861), marriage date unknown. The 1900 census lists them as married 11 years. They were not married in Doniphan Co., KS. Maybe Holt, MO? Or does anyone know where and when she died? Levi's Kunkle's 2nd wife, Elizabeth MURRAY was born in Wheeling, Ohio, WV, where Edgar BROWNLEE (Jefferson's cousin) was also born. Elizabeth and Levi also have a son named Edgar. Her brother is N. F. MURRAY who was ennumerated in the Holt 1876 census. Does anyone have Elizabeth's parent's names? Or N. F.'s actual names? Finally, Edgar's half-sister, Lydia Murphy may have married Thomas Hahn in Holt, MO on 1 Jan 1866. I'm not sure if they are the same people in the following but would love to find out somehow. --DIED: William Hahn, an employee of the Rock Island Shops of Horton [KS] a year ago, died of Consumption of the lungs at Chicago on 1 May. He was a son of Thomas Hahn, formerly of Holt County, Mo. He was a son-in-law of Levi Kunkle of Lafayette, where Mrs. Hahn will make her home. [Josephine Kunkle Hahn was not indexed in the 1900 census in Doniphan Co, KS.] I was hoping that even though these particular Kunkles had left Holt MO that they were maybe prominent enough to be mentioned in Gone Home or that one of you might have researched them? Thanks so much! Susan

    1. Re: [MOHOLT] Roll Call: Judy's and Griffith's
    2. Dear Vicky: The Judy family were eventually associated with the Metts/Metz and/or Wampler families from Holt. Congratulations on your book. I may be interested when the time comes out. May I share information with you? My mother's parents were in Holt, Missouri 1870-1902, and their parents were there before that. As a matter of fact, you have sent me a lot of the information that we have for which I thank you almost every day. But we do have some later biography if you would care for it. John Pary Wampler, son of Isaac Wampler; and Mary Ann Metts, daughter of George Metts, son of Samuel Edward Metts. It would be so great to know of their friends and neighbors, the description of their life styles and of the countryside. The name of Mullinax was also a family branch afterward, but they are not of our direct line. I believe the Judys were relative to the Mullinax part in some way. Please let me know when your book is to come out and if you know what the price will be. Thank you. LJSilvey green1berr@cs.com

My branch of Judy's were associated with Metzgars, Meyers and Wamplers as well as the Griffiths, Naumans and it seems like almost everybody else in Mound City and Criag. I haven't run into the Metz or Mullinex in association with the branch of the Judys. At least at one time there may have been another family of Judy's in the early 1900's, I've found an Anna Myrtle Judy b. abt 1889 and married 4/19/1907 to a Irvin E. Barcus. They were apparently from Maitland and don't seem to be related to my bunch of Judy's. > >But we do have some later biography if you would care for it.
