Good Morning, I would like a look-up from the 1876 Holt Co., Mo. Census for Stephen A. GOODALE, spouse Susan BEAN GOODALE. They were married in Holt Co., Mo. 23Sep1874. Thank you, Marie "The ground on which we stand is sacred ground. It is the dust and blood of our ancestors." ~Chief Plenty Coups, Crow
Bob, I missed whatever you said about the 1876 special census taken in MO. Is there a way to access this info or do you have a copy of this census? I have family I could not find on the 1880 census from Holt Co. and Reynolds Co., MO and would love to know if they might be on this 1876 census. Hi Marcia, I've joined this list in the hopes of finding out more concerning the marriage of Susan Bean to Stephen A. Goodale as he is my ggGrandfather. I thought maybe if I studied this Bean family a little ... but it seems to raise a whole new set of questions :) Would you know anything about Susan Bean Goodale? I do have access to 1910 Census if you could use a look-up in exchange? Hi, Keith! I answered your email about a week ago and have finally had some time to look for your Wm. Henderson and Mary Ann Alexander. Mary Ann was my ggrandfather's sister. My infor shows that Mary Ann and Wm. were married in St. Joseph, MO on July 28, 1861. I have several pages of information on them and other Hendersons. I also have a picture of Mary Ann (nickname Polly) and Wm. I would be happy to answer any questions you have or, if you give me your snail mail address, I would be happy to copy the pages and mail them to you. Good luck! Darla
There are several William W Hendersons in MO during that timeframe. I don't think this is my William W. My grandmother knew Mary Ann (her g-grandmother) and we know she was an Alexander. Thanks for the information, though. Thanks Pat. I'll look in St.Joe as well. Who were the two Henderson families you did find in Holt Co.? If one was James or Margaret I'd be interested in that information as well. Thanks. There were two Henderson families, neither of which had a William or Washington. That might indicate they came to Holt Co. after the middle of 1860; however, I didn't find some of my families on the 1860 census that should have been there, so it could be they were just missed if they were already there. Dear List Members, I look forward to the year 2003 being a great one for our list. Because of the amount new members we have subscribing every day, I feel it is time to again post the suggested rules of the list...even us long time members need reminding once in a while. 1 I have very few rules on the lists I watch over. The main one is to treat your fellow members as you would like to be treated. Also the posting of virus warnings, test messages, chain letters, political announcements, current events, items for sale, personal messages, flames, etc. (in other words - spam) is NOT ALLOWED and will be grounds for removal. Consideration for exceptions, contact me Kathleen Burnett KathleenBurnett@earthlink.net 2. If someone posts a message to the list that should not have been posted, please just delete it. Know that I am taking care of the problem. When you post your unhappiness, then you just continue on the problem. I know it is hard when your heart has been offended, but for my sake, and the sake of the list, please just delete it. Rootsweb has a wonderful Spam Detective and it stops most of it. You should see what comes across my screen. I have to look at each of them to make sure that what was stopped was truly Spam. Once in a while, one slips by though and if this happens, just delete it and go on with what we all love, genealogical research. Some suggestions to make our list run smoother are: 1. If you would put information such as names, places, and dates relating to your posting, in the subject line, it might give you a better chance to attract the attention of someone who has the information you are looking for or the attention of someone who is searching for the information you are posting. 2. Please remember to delete the taglines and un-needed words when you re-send a message to the list with your answer. If you don't check this, your responses can become quite large and may cause problems with some of our member's servers. This member who might not be able to receive your message because of its size, just might be your long lost second cousin with all the answers you are looking for. 3. Remember to keep your Virus protection up to date and never open any attached file unless you are 100% sure what it is and even then you are taking a chance. If you do notice that one of our members has a virus, please do not post their name and e-mail address across the list. Let me know and I will take care of the problem. Most likely the member already knows and is in a major state of stress. Receiving messages of each of us will only cause his or her stress level to rise. 4. Please remember, we have members from all walks of life, all ages and all levels of education on our list. Be understanding. The very person who mis-spelled every other word in their posting could be the very one with your missing family bible in their attic. Some sites to remember: 1. There is a great Rootsweb site, Password Central, you can go to if You want to find out what Rootsweb lists you are a member of or need to unsubscribe from a list, just follow the instructions. http://passwordcentral.rootsweb.com/ 2. If you would like to visit the archived messages for this list you may go to http://archiver.rootsweb.com/ and type in the name of the list you want to see the archives for. From there you can search by date. 3. If you are interested in knowing about other mailing list out there, one of the very best inventories of genealogical mailing lists is John Fullers Genealogy Resources on the Internet located at http://www.rootsweb.com/~jfuller/gen_mail.html I want to thank each of you for your continued support of me and your willingness to help make this list the success it is.
