    3. Thank you for that. Could I have the other 5 pages now? THAT WAS A JOKE! Actually, the Ridge part of the family (which Proctor is a later part of) is the only part that I know of coming from Pulaski Co, KY. With this James Wilson coming from there too, it opens up some possibilities I hadn't considered before. Thanks, Rick On 6 Jul 2003 at 18:08, srb1 wrote: > >From Gone Home 1: > > James C. Wilson-b. 1. [MOHOLT] Wilsons in Holt County??
    2. Rick Wilson
    3. Liz, (I tried to return your email and it bounced twice, so I posted it here.) I should have been more clear. The Wilsons and Ridges are still two different groups of people until leaving Holt County for Brown Co, Kansas. The Ridges definitely came from Pulaski Co, KY. They are the ones who were in Scotland County before coming to Holt Co. In 1860, the main family group was in Forest City Township with some of the children in Lewis and Dallas Twps. By 1870, it seems the ones who remained were in Lewis Township. Since there aren't too many, I'd really like the ones you have, especially if the father, Samuel (b. abt 1800), is one of them. I think they're probably all relatives. The Wilsons, I don't know. If the Proctors are from the Forbes area, I'd assume that's where my Wilsons were too. I have Jubal and the Proctors from the 1850 census and they were neighbors with another James nearby too. James Lee was not in the 1850 in Holt Co and he doesn't seem to fit in as a missing child in any of the other Wilson families in 1850 either. So I assume he and hopefully his family showed up between 1850-1855 when he came along and married Barrilla Proctor. James Lee's second marriage was to Amelia Ridge after they all got to Kansas. Since there are so many Wilsons, these are the most important ones right now: 1. James Lee Wilson (my guy) was born in 1830 somewhere in Missouri and died in Kansas in 1894. According to census records, his father was born in Tennessee and his mother in Kentucky. (I've already found my James and Amelia buried in Kansas.) 2. Barrilla Proctor Wilson is possibly buried in Holt County (b. abt 1833, d. betw 1865-1870). 3. Jubal Wilson (b. abt 1821 in Kentucky, d. aft. 1850) and his family (who I haven't proven to be related yet) came from Jefferson Co, MO before Holt County. His wife, Mary Dunkin/Duncan, is related to some Duncans and Farmers who moved to Kansas with my James Lee Wilson. 4. The other James Wilson (b. abt. 1811 in Kentucky) was a gunsmith. His 2nd wife was Clarena (b. abt. 1829 in MO). First wife died between 1845-1849. 5. The difficult ones are the family that I hope made the trip with James Lee Wilson between 1850-1855. He was a young adult so he could have come alone. However, I still think he'd be related to Jubal's family. Also, is William Hilton/Hinton in the book? He was Amelia Ridge's first husband and should have died in the early 1860's. He may have had children die then too. Thank you very much for your help. It wasn't me who visited in Fortescue, although I do intend to visit the area someday. I had actually planned to this month, but it didn't work out. -- Rick Wilson -- genealogy@jerkwater.net
