    3. DelC, Why don't you visit the website? It's free access site unlike the Ancestry.com (the owner of the list) which is PAID-access site. I checked Holt County site and archives and there is very little information available to assist in your research. Copies of volumes are in the USGenWeb Archives for Holt County. And the research in probate records is most severly underutilized by anyone except those who know there's more to the probate records. And Rootsweb does allow announcements as long as the AUP is followed. I've been posting announcements of additions to free-access site for years on many Rootsweb lists. That is as long as there's no mention of $$ in message. Roots-L which is granddaddy of all Rootsweb lists has pre-screeners who check messages before they are allowed on Roots-L and they never once rejected my announcements in 7 years. Ancestry.com is a commerical company owning the Rootsweb. And note the tagline at the very bottom of this message. It's paid-access site. David Samuelsen DelC wrote: > What is SAMPUBCO?? 1. SMITH
    2. I am seeking info on Marion P. Smith, b. 1850 in Tipton Co., IN. He is in Craig, Holt Co. in the 1880 census with his wife Minnie (Wilwmina) and their daughters Nora and Saluda. Minnie's father (Henry Bungerstock) also lives in Holt Co. in 1880. I am especially interested in Marion's mother, Saluda P. (Casler)Smith, she was b. in 1813 in OH and was in Tipton Co., IN in the 1880 census living with her daughter. I'm told she died in 1886 in Craig, Holt Co., MO. Marion died in 1924 and Minnie in 1946. I would appreciate any help with this family. Thanks, Lynn Venafro

    3. I sent my email to the governor. I quoted history during the civil war, WWI, WWII and Vietnam and the history of the state as a whole. The coal mining, agricultural. I explained I learned a lot of history about my family and the area by researching this information. 2. Looking for info on the Town of Nodaway and Nodaway Island. Would like to find a photo of the old depot and water tower at Nodaway. 1. [MOHOLT] Need Help
    2. RICHARD RUSSELL
    3. Please: Need any info/data on some ancestors that left Indiana in the 1850's and moved to Holt and Andrew Counties, then all into Holt Co. Samuel Frazier Winton and wife Samantha Jane Blades, with family, left Indiana in late 1855, and moved to Holt Co. He, along with wife (nicknamed "Nancy"), had children Enoch Frank Winton, and Mary Elnora Winton, and would have another, George Winton, while there. They would be there into early 1860's, when his wife, Samantha Jane "Nancy" (Blades) Winton would die, and so would youngster, George Winton. Samuel F. Winton would take the two surviving children, and return to Indiana. I have never been able to find the death notices, obituaries, graves, of these two??? Along in late 1855, but going next door to Andrew Co, was the mother of Samantha Jane (Blades) Winton, widow Dianna (Hunt) Blades. Along with Dianna, was another daughter , Mary A. Blades, and her husband James L. Peters. They would live in Andrews Co into the 1860's, but would be in Holt Co by 1870. James L. Peters had died, or was killed in Civil War?? James and Mary A. Peters known children were Nancy J. 1855 ( who married John A. Acton in 1875), David 1858/9, Thomas 1862. Dianna (Hunt) Blades, age 75 in 1880, is living with widowed daughter, Mary Ann (Blades) Peters (age 45), and grandson Thomas Peters. Again, I do not know of death data, obit, graves, etc???? Dianna (Hunt) Winton was my Great Great Grandmother; Samantha Jane (Blades) Winton was my Great Grandmother. Would appreciate and info/data!!! Thank you. Take care. Regards, Dick (God Bless the United States, and all of our young servicemen and women!!!!!!)
