    2. I'm researching 2 early settlers: THOMAS ARBUCKLE and his  wife JANE (DAVIS) ARBUCKLE  came to Rives (now Henry) County in 1830 and is said to have been the first white settler there - on Tebo Creek 4 miles W and SW of Windsor.  Some children probably accompanied him and others are believed to have followed.  Thomas became county judge when the county was organized in 1830.  He died 9/29/1838; his will is in the historical museum at Clinton. ASA CROSBY MARVIN settled in the area of Clinton about 1840.  Practiced law, farming and sat in the state legislature.  Married MARTHA ARBUCKLE, daughter of Thomas Arbuckle, above.  Children: Mary (died young), Ella, Lycurgus and Edward.  Martha died 1852 and Asa remarried Mary Salina ADAMS.  She died leaving no chilldren.  Asa joined Union army in Civil War, after which he and the family lived in Sedalia.  Asa had a brother LEVI MARVIN who also lived in Henry County at the same time I'm happy to trade information with anybody interested.
