I was wondering if anyone had a list or knew where I could obtain a list of the local churches that were in or near Henry County, Missouri in or before 1849. Also, if anyone is aware of any orphanages that were open in Missouri around that time as well. Trying to find an ancestors lost parents' names. His name was Charles Henry Peats. He was born March 18, 1849, but I don't know to whom. I cannot find him in the 1850 census, but in the 1860 census he is living with a woman by the name of Catherina Brown. I have also traced him to Indiana in 1880 and 1900. It states that his parents were born in Tennessee. Unfortunately, that is the only information that I have on them. I would really appreciate it if someone on the list knows of a way I can find out his parents names, I would be forever grateful. I am at a loss.
