Clinton is a small town of about 6,000. Be sure to go to the Henry County Museum in downtown Clinton. It's very interesting. They have a website, too. I would make the court house your first place to go. They are most helpful with locating old records. I got an old platt map (1912?) which showed the location of cemetaries and the property which my ancestors owned. I found a lot of great stuff while there. I would definitely avoid staying at the Days Inn. I know there is a Best Western Colonial Inn and a Motel 8 there. Some of our group (we had a small reunion) moved from the Days Inn to a new motel in Clinton, but I can't remember the name. Eating was either BBQ, fast food or chain restaurants. We didn't make it down to Warsaw in Truman Lake, but it looks like there may be some nice restaurants there. Good luck with your research and enjoy cute little Clinton, Missouri! Margaret
