Oral family history suggests that the two were returning after a few years of working the Gold Rush in California when the accident happened. There was some mention of 'ROADHOUSE'. Is that a cemetery or a town. I am not familiar with the geography, but William Spencer did have a brother, Hugh Spencer that lived in Sedalia, Pettis County, Missouri. Is that nearby? What were the names of the newspapers in Henry or nearby counties during the 1850's. Would there possibly be a cemetery stone, as the Spencers were stone cutters and masons by trade when they immigrated to the United States. Any information will be appreciated.
