Give only enough information to make your request crystal clear to the reader BE REASONABLE: Do not ask for "everything you have" of anybody! BE UNDERSTOOD: Avoid abbreviations and pronouns that can cause confusion. Do capitalize surnames. (Please do not capitalize entire posts as it is more difficult to read all caps, even for those with poor eyesight. It also comes across in email as SHOUTING!) BE COURTEOUS: ask - do not demand BE THOUGHTFUL: These are your cousins, however distant. Offer to share information BE CORRECT: Proofread your query before you send it to ensure that it is understandable BE SMART: Well written queries are easier to answer and are much more apt to then be answered. "Seeking Great Grandfather Phillips" is not very likely to get results, but "PHILLIPS, Charles R. 1872-1938, GA>TX>WA" is not only an eye catcher but shows at a glance what you seek. Sign your Internet queries with your name and email address. Some email programs do not show the address of the sender. 1. Re: [MOHENRY] Re: Eliza Jane Hooker
    2. Hi Joy and Darlene. I just read several of your post about the Hookers. We have Hookers in our Brookshire/Brookshier family History. They are not in my particular branch though. But I do believe they are part of your Hooker line since they cover Tenn, North Carolina and Missouri. Or nearest I can remember they do. They were part of the Brookshire's/Brookshier's of Linn County Missouri. I myself am Livingston county/Daviess county Missouri Brookshier. I was born in Chillicothe. Our people (Brookshire/Brookshier) came out of Rowan county N. Carolina as did all of those that carry our surname through out the united States of America. So if your interested you might want to get on the Brookshire L mail list. Stan Brookshier, Sr.

    2. Hi Darlene, First off, I want to apologize if I made you feel that the list I sent out was rules. I'm not that picky, I just wanted to help people post in a way that would get more responses. I'm sorry. I would love to know any additional information about Eliza Jane, and I would be glad to share what I have. I have a book by Virginia Ingles Maes called "The Descendants of Samuel Hooker, of the Carolinas, Tennessee, Indiana and Illinois". It details the family line from Thomas Hooker, b. 1779 up to the 1940's. What information would be of help to you? Joy Joysmail@aol.com

    1. [MOHENRY] Surnames: ARBUCKLE and MARVIN
    2. I'm researching 2 early settlers: THOMAS ARBUCKLE and his  wife JANE (DAVIS) ARBUCKLE  came to Rives (now Henry) County in 1830 and is said to have been the first white settler there - on Tebo Creek 4 miles W and SW of Windsor.  Some children probably accompanied him and others are believed to have followed.  Thomas became county judge when the county was organized in 1830.  He died 9/29/1838; his will is in the historical museum at Clinton. ASA CROSBY MARVIN settled in the area of Clinton about 1840.  Practiced law, farming and sat in the state legislature.  Married MARTHA ARBUCKLE, daughter of Thomas Arbuckle, above.  Children: Mary (died young), Ella, Lycurgus and Edward.  Martha died 1852 and Asa remarried Mary Salina ADAMS.  She died leaving no chilldren.  Asa joined Union army in Civil War, after which he and the family lived in Sedalia.  Asa had a brother LEVI MARVIN who also lived in Henry County at the same time I'm happy to trade information with anybody interested.

    1. [MOHENRY] MULLIN Family
    2. Merritt Mullen
    3. Looking for all descendants of William and Nancy MULLIN, who moved with their children from Franklin Co KY to Henry Co MO about 1857 and eventually settled on a large farm southwest of Urich. The Mullin Cemetery is located on land that was part of the farm. Descendants carried the surnames MULLIN, HARNESS, WAYNE, McDANIEL, PFOST, STEWART and McCOOL. I have data on the families that remained in Henry County, but have not been able to find all the descendants who migrated further. Here are the first two generations: William Mullin (1822 - 1889) b. 24 Nov 1822, Co. Antrim, Ireland d. 28 Oct 1889, Urich, Henry Co., MO & Nancy Ellen Calvert (1824 - 1900) b. 28 May 1824, Scott Co., KY d. 24 Apr 1900, Urich, Henry Co., MO m. 9 Mar 1845, Franklin Co., KY | Mary Ann Mullin (1848 - 1896) | b. 21 Apr 1848, Franklin Co., KY | d. 16 Nov 1896, Urich, Henry Co., MO | & William Harness (1842 - 1912) | b. 31 Mar 1842, St. Charles Co., MO | d. 3 Jul 1912, Urich, Henry Co., MO | m. 11 Apr 1867, Urich, Henry Co., MO | Lucy Jane Mullin (1849 - >1870) | b.
