I'm looking for any info on a Lopp family of the Henry Co. area. I'm specifically looking for info on John W. Lopp and wife Alla (possibly Alvira, Almina) Southard-Lopp, both are supposed to have been born in MO but not sure of the date sometime around 1860. John & Alla's daughter (my Great Grandmother) Etta Lopp was b. in Benton Co. in 1880. John & Alla had at least one son Emery b. abt. 1885. Emery is listed on the 1920 Henry Co. census, page 2A, ED 95, Image 285 (per Ancestry.com). I don't have access to the 1920 census so I can't check. If someone has access to this census or has any info on the Lopp family please get in touch with me! Thanks, Cindy

Hi all, I am new to your list and am in need of some help! I am just beginning to research the following lines, as I am at brickwalls w/all of my others! We would like to hear from anyone researching Coulson, Fergerson, Combs, Ellington, Morey, and especially Whitley lines. Most all were in Henry County MO in the late 1800's to mid 1900's, except the Whitley's, who were mainly in St. Clair County MO. I have some info on Coulson/Fergerson, and Ellington, and very little on Morey and Combs. Have quite a bit on the Whitley's though. Coulson/Fergerson line is for my daughter, and Combs/Ellington is for my husband's side. I descend from Robert Whitley and Marjorie (Margery) Morey (my ggggrandparents-paternal). Thanks for letting me join your list and hope all are enjoying the weekend! Trish in Independence MO.

If you will call the Calhoun city hall they can give you the name of the lady that holds the plot book for the calhoun cemetery. Her name is Emogene, and she just happens to be related distantly to me but has helped me look up information.
I have a Campbell family that came to MO. in the 1880's settling in Cass County. By the early 1900's my great grandfather Henry Duncan Campbell and family moved to the Henry - Bates Counties area. Most of my Campbell's are buried in Urich Cemetery -- and some still live within the county. I'm trying to connect with any Campbell's who may be related. Henry's father was John Campbell 1817 - 1899, born in PA. moved to OH 1858 and onto MO. in 1883. Getting past John has been dificult and hoping maybe someone is researching the same Campbell's (worth a try). I have quite a lot of info on the John Campbell family after moving to OH if anyone is interested. Craig Campbell

Hello List, Would like to know if there are any early records for Brownington Cemetery. We are looking for the grave location of Henry E. Greathouse. He died 12-24-1884 in Fairview Twp, Henry Co., Mo., and was buried at Brownington Cemetery. We walked thru the old part of the cemetery today. Someone is doing a great job keeping this cemetery neat and clean. We did not locate a stone for Henry E., but did not think there would be one. Any help will be appreciated, Carol Greathouse

I am interested in finding the burial location of Alonzo M. Cumpton(or Compton). We understand he was killed in or near Calhoun the night before the June 12, 1864 raid on Calhoun, MO, during the Civil War. We are trying to locate his place of burial. Does anyone have a Henry County cemetery index who can look up his name? I see there is a cemetery south of Calhoun, but I do not have a name for the cemetery. I would appreciate any help. Kay Winter

There was a marriage in Henry Co. for a Malissa Ann Kimsey and Thomas Benks Oct. 17, 1860. Anyone know what became of them?? Is she maybe the Malissa "Kinstry" who md William Franklin Page 14 Sep 1865 as his 2nd wife? The Alfred Kimsey and Wm. Franklin Page households were near each other, and Alfred had a daughter Melissa. The 1860-65 period was a bad time. I wonder if Thomas Benks was a war casualty? Dan Page dpage@ipa.net
