Hi. I don't have much on John Wesley Smith, other than that he was born at home. He married Alta Artessia Hook, the daughter of Sylvanus Asbery Hook and Marchie Carrie Brinton. Marchie was full blooded indian. Thier children were Everett Wesley (1912-1986), Mildred Maxine, Dywene, Melvin Keith, and Wilbur Lee Smith. John Wesley Smith's father was Either Thomas or Richard. That is all I have on John Wesley Smith. My husband was told by his grandfather, Everett Wesley Smith that the family had been in Harrison County for a long time, and the first one to move to Harrison County came as a trapper/hunter. When Everett was alive, no one in Randy's family was really involved in Family History, so they didn't ask Everett any quesitons. Does any of the names sound familiar? What part of Harrison County did your Smith's move to?
