    3. I am working to compile as much information as possible regarding the descendants of James ANDERSON (1802-1893) and his wife Phebe PURTEE, who were among the first settlers in Eagleville in the mid-1850s. (I am descended from their daughter Mary Ann ANDERSON who married Leander G. JONES). James' oldest son, William ANDERSON married Jane MARTIN in 1842 in DeWitt Co., Illinois. William died in 1864. His widow Jane ANDERSON, b. Jul 1825, is listed on the 1880 census in her own household in Eagleville. In 1900, she is living with her daughter Cynthia SWEETEN in Marion Twp, however Jane's surname at that time is difficult to read: it appears to be HESTER or HEATER, so I presume she remarried and was again widowed between 1880 and 1900. However, I cannot find anyone with either of these names in my Harrison Co. reference books. Does anyone know who she may have remarried?? When did she die and where is she buried? Census records indicate that the children of William and Jane Martin ANDERSON included at least the following: (1). Lewis H., b. ca. 1843. Is this the same person who married Virginia NEVILL in Harrison Co. in 1866? If yes, where did they go? Did they have children? (2). John M., b. ca. 1844. Is this the same person who married M.E. TERRY in Harrison Co. in 1868? If yes, where did they go? Did they have children? (3). Cynthia Elizabeth (5 Jan 1847/48 - 22 Jun 1923) m. Adam SWEETEN (1841-1909), both buried Masonic Cem., Eagleville. (I will post a query to clarify their children at a later date). (4). Phebe Rebecca (26 Jun 1850 - 13 Nov 1942) m. Andrew BARTON 19 Jan 1868 in Harrison Co. Have some info re: their children/descendants. (5). Fanny, b. ca. 1853. No further info. (6). William, b. ca 1863. No further info. (7). James S., b. ca. 1865. No further info. The 1900 census indicates that Jane MARTIN ANDERSON (HESTER?) was the mother of 9 children, 6 of whom were living. Who were the other two children? Which of the above 7 were deceased by 1900? Thanks in advance for any further information anyone can provide regarding these individuals! Connie Sheets clsheets1@prodigy.net
