    3. I only found one thing regarding the Chapmans you noted in my Harrison County history books and, since you noted the military record of the younger, I thought you might like to know about it. In The History of Harrison County, Illustrated, The Goodspeed Publishing Company, 1888 (Page 329 in the reprint) it is noted that a George W. Chapman served as a Private in Company E, Twenty-third Missouri Regiment Volunteer Infantry. This regiment was formed in Harrison County during the summer of 1861. They fought under General Prentiss at the Battle of Shiloh.
