Tony, I have the information from the 1880 Census for Daniel & Sarah Rhodus, and I'll send that to you when I get home (I'm at work right now). I was unable to find Saunders & Nancy Stewart in the 1880 Census CDs. I found a Stewart family in Clay county, where there were only initials (no first names), and some of the initials and ages might fit, but I'm not convinced this one is "ours". I'll send you that information, too, and maybe you can decide for yourself. If anyone else has better luck with Saunders, please let me know, too. He's been *very* elusive to track! Rob. Rob. Yes Dan, I think you are right. Monson street dead ends parallel to Beekman, so if you are on monson street you would turn north where it stops, and you can see it from Monson. (Sorry for the confusion). I was there about 4 months ago, and it looked to me like there was 2-3 sections, the one on the west looked to be taken care of, the one in the middle was sort of taken care of, and If there was a 3rd section, it was NOT taken care of--there was farm machinery and such in it.....but I only saw one grave stone over there...does anyone know the story behind why that stone wasn't actually in the "middle section"? ----- Original Message ----- From: "DownRiver Dan Brennan" <drd@networksplus.net> To: <MOHARRIS-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, September 19, 2002 7:02 PM Subject: Re: [MOHARRIS-L] Monson Cemetery > Lisa and others, > > I have posted a map of Bethany that I had gotten from a brochure by > the Chamber of Commerce on my website. > http://www.networksplus.net/drd/bethany.html > It shows Miriam Cemetery in the NW part of town, Chuck. > Monson Cemetery is not on Monson Street of that I am positive. Hi Lisa. How familar are you with Bethany? I think the easiest way (from the interstate) is to go West past Wal-Mart, go down the hill, to the stop light. (Casey's is on the corner) Keep going West, and at the second stop sign, turn left (south) {on 20th street{ until you get to Monson Street. Turn Right (West) on Monson If you follow Monson Street, it takes you the cemetery. (The cemetery is in the west part of town.) And it is at the end of the road. If you aren't going this weekend, I could run over there and get you better directions. Barbara, can you please look up for me: James and Sarah Hix. They should have been in MO in 1880. They had a son by then, Joshua. Saunders and Nancy Stewart, who should have been in MO in 1880. Daniel and Sarah Rhodus, who should have been in MO in 1880. Seymore and Sarah Hilton, which I believe might have been in WI in 1880. Thanks a bunch! Tony H

Hi Rita. Lets see...my Perry Green was born 4 Nov 1852 in Osceloosa Township, Mahaska Co, Iowa. He was the son of Noah and Permelia/Parmelia/Pamela (Dukes) Green. He married Hannah Jane Martin, and they had 10 children (Della Mae, Robert Riley, Charles Franklin, Anna Elizabeth, Edith Permilia, Noah, Mary Etta, Grace E., Willard McKinley, and Goldie Flossie). Hannah was born Aug 13, 1855, Perry died 9 Aug 1921 in Decatur county, Iowa (8 miles S. of Grand River, Decatur county, Iowa) Hannah died Oct. 20, 1930 and is buried beside her husband in Elk Cemetery, Decatur County, Iowa. Perry's father, Noah (b. in Kentucky) died while on picket duty "by a gun in the hand of a comrad who mistook him for the enemy." I don't know if Perry was in a war, but his brother Willam Riley Green was in the Civil War (Co. B 18th Regiment-Volunteer-Iowa. Thank you for your time.
