Dear Kevin, Thank you for the quick response. I have been so busy with school that I have not checked my messages for quite awhile. In your message, you mentioned that you had marriage dates and other information concerning the Hollands. Could you send me the dates and info? Also, do you know if "William Holland, 1885-1964" (per the info you sent) was a son of Sherman and Susan? Again, I thank you deeply. For your information, forwarded from another List: <<The news last week was the NGS interlibrary collection will be coming to the St. Louis County Library in Frontenac and will be available probably in January 2002. It includes 20,000 books, maps, family histories, etc, worth about $1M. Thanks to Curt Wichter, Ann Fleming, and the St. Louis County Library system for arranging St. Louis as the collection's new home, and many thanks to Julius Hunter for arranging the free transportation of the collection. The collection is coming from the NGS Library in Virginia, and is a 98-year collection. Items can be interlibrary loaned from St. Louis County to your local library after it is catalogued and on the shelves. Of course, this same library partnered with LDS last year, and the LDS microfilms can all be ordered from St. Louis County Headquarters' Special Collections location.>>
I have some information I have tried to send you which includes attachments which can't be sent to the list. Please post your correct email address. (I tried prodigy.net and prodigy.netnet. I don't know, or find, any other Hollands in Harrison County. I would bet they are the same family if you could tie them together. Let me know if you want the information.) I don't see anything for Adaline or Sarah. The only thing I find on Enoch is that he is listed as a Settler of Harrison County Prior to 1850. Cainsville is in the very Northeast corner of Harrison County, You might want to check for Sherman's marriage records in Mercer County, Missouri, and Decatur County, Iowa. I didn't see that you ever got a reply so I will tell you what I have. Source: Harrison County Missouri Cemetery Records, Harrison County Genealogical Society, Bethany, Missouri, 1985 Pg 43 [BEGIN QUOTE] UNKNOWN OR LAUDERBACK CEMETERY Located in Butler Cemetery in Northeast quarter of Section 3 in pasture belonging to Mrs. Willie (Vona) Green. It is uncertain but probably members of the Thomas Lauderback family are bured here. According to Harrison Co. Courthouse records, in Direct Index of Land Records Book 3 Page 268 and Deed Records Book 4 Page 335, D.R. and Christine Walton deeded to Thomas Lauderback as follows: 12 rods of land in the Northwest fourth of the Northeast quarter of Section 3 to be used for a private or family grave yard for the sum of $10.00. 4 August 1873 Willie and Vona Green moved to the farm in 1929. Vona said the graves were level and there were no markers at that time. The only thing that indicated there were graves was an old fence around it. No one in the area knew who might be buried there. Eventually the fence deteriorated to the point that it was removed and the area returned to pasture. [END QUOTE] That's probably not what you were wanting here but that is what I found. The Harrison County Genealogical Society might be able to help you further. Hi Rita. My group of Gillespies came to Harrison county, Missouri from Ohio. I am not sure when. James Gillespie was born about 1813 in Ohio. In 1871 the family was still in Ohio. (they may have been in Bloomfield Twp, Jackson Co. Ohio in 1871). By 1891 the family was in Missouri. By 1896 they were in Grant Twp, Missouri, Blythedale in 1919, Ridgeway in 1920.
