    3. Hi Christine. I know Smith is a VERY common name, but which Smith's are you looking for? Ours came from Illinios (probably Sangamon County) to Nodaway county, to Harrison County. I have a Richard Monroe Smith b. 1854 in either Illinios or MO (census records conflict information with the obituary). They moved to Missouri around 1856. Richard's father was Simon Peter Smith. Simon married a Nancy, then a Frances, then probably Lucinda Racard/Rakard. Thank you for your time. 3. I can give you information on John Trammell and Lavina Allen, the limited information that exists and some on Al and Cora Trammell. Lavina's family tree goes back to the time of the Crusades. She is related to many influential people. I have over 100 pedigree charts on her direct ancestors alone. Don Knight, how are we related? Also, there is a reunion this August 17th in Bethany, Mo for the descendants of John Trammell and Lavina. I have photos of them I can share by way of email also. Lisa Davis

Any Allen info you'd share, just back to the US immigrant(s) would be great. If interested, e-mail me privately, and I'll share what little I have and my angle on this. Many, many thanks, Bob Wilson

    3. The early Daviess County marriages are listed at: http://www.rootsweb.com/~modavies/marriages.htm There are 3 Gillespie's there but Joseph is not one of them. I will check my books after the Mavericks game tonight and see what I can find on them. I have Gillespie's in my family tree but no Moses or Joseph. It may be a different branch. The earliest I have is William B., born February 13, 1811. 3. Hi Pam. Unfortunatly, I can only go back as far as James Gillespie born 1813 in Ohio married to Electa Richmond Poor on June 2, 1842 in Jackson County, Ohio. Did Joseph marry before or after June of 1842? James' grandson, Amos, was my husbands great-grandfather. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. 3. I may have a brother to your Joseph. I have a James Gillespie born 1813 in Ohio. He married Electa Richmond Poor. He died in Missouri (I am assuming Harrison County). One of his sons was James F. Gillespie who married Mary Polley. James and Mary had Amos. Amos was buried in Rose Hill Cemetery near Ridgeway, Harrison County, Missouri. My notes say that James (b. 1813) Gillespie's father MAY have been born in Ireland, but I am not sure.
