The reason for my search is I have something of his I would like to give back to his family. thank you
Lisa, Thank you, please put me in touch with them. I apreciate it. Allen Cemetery sounds familiar, I think it is in that part of the county even where the Piburn Montgomerys were at. I research Piburns and Montgomerys in Harrison County, Missouri. I have a lot on the Piburns, hardly anything on the Montgomerys. William Riley Piburn (1823-1913)married Amanda Elizabeth Montgomery. I'm just sure that somehow she is related to Hugh and even Archibald Montgomery, but I don't know how. I dont have her parents. Has anyone Heard of Irvin Montgomery of turn-of-the-century Harrison County? He was definately related to Amanda, a letter of his exists among my family's archives. My apologies for this--meant to send it directly to Karen.
Karen-- In your query, you spelled Yager/Yeager two ways. Which way is correct, or were they really spelled differently? Let me know, and I will correct it before posting. <<Wendell Yager Waterbury>> <<William Yeager Waterbury>> Thank you. Barbra Harrison Co. Coordinator

I know that his wife's name was Sarah Joseph and he is not buried with her. I have a tax receipt that shows he paid taxes in Harrison County, Fox Creek Township, Mo, on November 28, 1874
The counties have incomplete records from 1883 to 1893. The state started keeping records in 1910 usually complete records after that. Only records before 1910 are Bible records, newspaper notices, etc. ----- Original Message ----- From: "glenda Chandler" <glendabeth@hotmail.com> To: <MOHARRIS-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, February 12, 2002 12:19 PM Subject: [MOHARRIS-L] Does anyone know? > > Hi Does Harrison Co have all the birth certificates from 1877? > Does anyone have family buried in Cat Creek cemetary?Get more from the Web. In a message dated 2/12/02 10:18:32 AM Pacific Standard Time, glendabeth@hotmail.com writes: << Does Harrison Co. have all the birth certificates from 1877? >> According to my Everton's Handybook for Genealogists, an old edition, the H.C. County Clerk has some birth records from 1883 to 1893. I know these are not complete, as I know of someone who, during WWII, had to get his older sister, and a minister to write affidavits to the effect of his birth, in order to get a birth certificate. After 1910 they can be obtained at the State Bureau of Vital Statistics in Jefferson City. Hopefully, someone will respond with more recent information. Barbra
