Herbert Who came to Grundy Co about 1845 started the Herbert Community (4 Corners). He had a buggy shop, Gen. store and Herbert School. On Herbert land George Dennis (Denny?) and Johanna Scott Carpenter built a home. The information states that Johanna was a neice of John S. Herbert.
