Hi List Members, I received the following message in my email this morning. As I am a Renfro researcher I found this most interesting! Anyone know anything about this Renfro family? The names of other family members? Or children? Your help would be much appreciated! Nancy Newspaper microfilm from the Jewett Norris Library- Genealogical section at Trenton, Missouri. Newspaper issued on Thursday, August 17, 1871: This article states" ..James Renfro drew his revolver and shot (Samuel) McNeal. McNeal then drew his and shot at Renfro who started to run, McNeal after him. He chased him about a mile (both on horse back) when he fainted and fell off his horse- was taken into a house and died shortly afterward. Deputy Sheriff Swayze went out after Mr. Renfro Sunday evening. He gave himself up without making any effort to get away......the examination of Renfro is going on at the courthouse. I found Samuel McNeal's grave in the Sires Cemetery north of Trention about 8 miles. Seeking additional court records on this case. Any ideas how to proceed?
