Surnames: Hall Ross Miller Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/oMB.2ACI/505.2.2 Message Board Post: While your posting may not have help Richard, It may help me in my search for the parents and place of birth for my GGGG-Grandfarher James Henry Hall. James is noted in the 1850 Grundy Co., MO Census, DW 402, as a 35 Y/O Blacksmith from KY with his 2nd wife Martha Wild and three children (Louisa, Columbus, Martha) from his 1st marriage. James was 1st married to Martha Louisa Miller on 8 Jan 1838, Hardin Co., KY. Accorting to Hardin County marriage records, Rachel Miller (Martha's mother) witnessed the marriage. Now, Living next to James Hall in the 1850 census is the family of James Ross (63 Y/O from PA) and his wife Rachel (50 Y/O from KY). Also in the household is 20 Y/O Thomas Miller from KY. I suspect that the 50 Y/O Rachel Ross is the former Mrs. Rachel Miller (Mother of Martha Louisa Miller) and that James Ross is her 2nd husband. The Thomas Miller in their household might have been a son from her first marriage. Lastly, you mentioned a 12 Y/O Marietta Hall in the hous! ehold of James Ross (age 70/VA) and Rachel (age 50/KY). I believe this "Marietta Hall" may be Martha Hall (b. 1848) who was a daughter of James Hall and Martha Miller. While their is a circumstantial case for this tie-in between my Halls and this Ross family, I would very much like to find some proof. If possible, can I get you look back at the 1860 census for Grundy and see if the family of James Hall is listed. If so, are they next to or near the Ross family you previously looked-up? Also, if the Halls are listed, is 12 Y/O daughter Martha missing from the household? Any help you or anyone else can provide would be greatly appreciated. James
