I am from William "Billie' Rooks b 1817 in Clinton Co Oh d 14 Sep 1875 in Susnaville, Lassen Co Ca. I have some dead ends here. I have not found date or burial of Mahala Smithson b 1814, Rooks who was Wm's wife and mar in 1837 in Randolph Co Ind went to grundy abt 1839/40. Had 6 ch as follows; 1...Isaac b abt 1838 in Randolph Co In. unk where he went after abt 1855? from Grundy Co. Mo. 2...Louisa b 2 oct 1839 in Clinton Co Oh d Jan 1918 in Ohio City, Van Wert Co. Oh mar Joseph ( Joel) Boring 22 Feb 1860 Greene TWP, Clinton Co Oh. Had abt 5/6 ch. ( I have some imfo on several ch here.) 3...Harrison ( on censues, but 1st name is William), b 1841 found in Clinton Co Oh 1861 & 62 in Civil War from Clinton Co Oh, Then was married , and lived life, in and bur in Darke Co, Oh Bur as William H. Rooks. Had abt 5 ch. ( I also have names here.). 4...Smith (on censuses, may have been named Smithson,) b abt 1843, No more and Unk where he went to after 1860 grundy Co Census.? 5...Allen, b abt 1844/5 and no more on him Unk where he went to. 6...Millie Maxine b 11 Oct 1846, ( my Grt Granmo.) left grundy with her father , William (Billie) Rooks abt 1862 in spring??? went to Susnaville, Ca. Mar 30 oct 1862 to Mike Brannan b 1828 Dearborn Co. Ind. They left there in abt 1864/5 for Coirvallis, Benton Co Ore then abt 1882? went to Bend , Deshutes Co Ore. Abt 1890 went to Colfax, Whitman Co. Wa where they both died . He in 1913 and she in 30 Oct 1925. Both bur in Colfax cem. I also have more here. They had 12 ch, 1 set of twins, b 1883 of which the boy died at birth and girl was Effie Cora Brannan, my granmother who mar 1900 to John Robert Barnett b 7 Oct 1875 in Farmington, Grayson Co. Tx. I would like to have the Fred WOODS E Mail. Louisa Rooks above had some ch or grch who mar Woods in Ohio and maybe he has more imfo or Cem's in Grundy Co I may check for Mahala's death etc. Do you have any imfo on any of what I have posted here??? There also was a Martha age 30 in 1860 census, living in house of Wm Rooks with some of the ch above. No last name or no mention of if she was a housekeeper or wife. Mahala died as Millie said, ( but other things she said I have proven wrong) when she was 9yrs but she was on 1850 census but not on 1860 census. 1855 would of made Millie 9 yrs old But??? other imfo she had left family I have proved not to be true as her birth place was Grundy Co Mo, NOT St Joseph, Mo as is on much imfo in WCFT and FTMaker etc..
