C. Hastings dec’d legal allowance of said estate December 6, 1847. /s/ William G. Brandley." Another receipt it lists a James B. Hastings, Joshua Bevens and John J. Hastings as having signed court papers for State of Missouri, Greene Co., Township of Cass on 1 Jan 1849 regarding the appraising of William Carroll Hastings. A receipt, "State of Missouri, County of Greene: I, Isaac Hastin do solemnly swear that there are five heirs of William C. Hastin dec’d. Now in being to wit Perry Hastin, Jane Hastin, John W. Hastin and Isaac N. Hastin and Nancy Hastin widow of said dec’d, all residing in Greene co., MO., that the dec’d died without a will, that I will make a true and perfect inventory of and faithfully administer all of the estate of the said deceased and pay the debts as far as the assets will extend and the law directs and account for and pay all assets which shall come to my possession or knowledge.
