    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: DAY, WINTON, GODBEY Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/IKB.2ACE/1753 Message Board Post: Does anyone have available a history book on Springfield? I am specifically ISO of anyone who might have knowledge of George S. and Theresa DAY? Their daughter Laura F. DAY was born in 1853, so I can only guesstimate their dates of birth being in the 1820-1830 time frame. Death date in the later part of the 1880's. I suspect, since their daughter was born in Louisiana (not large numbers of DAY's in this area..especially during this time) that this couple was migrating and were headed into SWMO. I feel sure that Laura F. DAY was born in transit and that she is not the only child of this union. It is known that Laura was married to Rev. Samuel McGinnis GODBEY. It is also thought that George S. DAY was Mayor of Springfield, MO in the 1880's. He is listed in his daughter's obit as such. If by chance you know of or have information on any of these three people, please contact me. Mike crimsonice@hotmail.com
