Seattle Times May 28, 1944 p.11 Man's Body Found in Lake Union Coroner's deputies were trying yesterday to identify the body of a man found Friday afternoon in Lake Union beneath the Aurora Bridge. Deputy Coroner HarryW.Johnson said the body had been in the water for weeks. The body was recovered by John Beck and John Ainsworth of the Harbor Patrol. The man was described as being five feet ten inches tall, with dark brown hair and hazel green eyes. He was wearing a white shirt, two-piece gray suit with a narrow stripe, red tie, blue or black overcoat and black shoes, size 9E. In his pockets were four handkerchiefs, one bearing the initial, "R."
