>From Abstract of Title, Lawson-Gibbs Title Co. Sheriff’s Deed, Filed 3 Jan 1871 All Thom {sic} These Presents shall Com I, John A. Patterson Sheriff of Greene County, State of Missouri, Send Greeting: Whereas on the sixty {sic} day of February A. D. 1869, at our Circuit Court Martha Owen recovered judgment against William S. Owen, for the sum of eighty dollars alimony and maintenance to be paid in regular sums of twenty dollars each for which said sum executed was issued by the Clerk of said Court against said W. S. Owen, & in favor of said Martha A. Owen, one dated August 6 1869 for twenty dollars one dated 15 September 1869, for twenty dollars two dated 11 March 1870 for twenty dollars each all delivered to me on the 13 March 1870, and whereas on the 3 day of December 1869, said Martha A. Owen at our said court recovered a further judgment against said William S. Owen, for the further sum of five hundred dollars as alimony for which an execution was issued from the Clerks office of said Court on the 11 day of March 1870, in favor of said Martha A. Owen & against the said William S. Owen and to me the said sheriff directed and delivered on the 23 day of March 1870, by vi! rtue of which I did on the 23rd day of March 1870, levy upon and seize all the right, title, interest and estate that the said William S. Owen, had of in and to the following real estate situate in my said County viz: Lots four and five (4 & 5) northeast frl qr and Lot four Northwest frl qr & east half of Lot four (4) Northwest frl qr & lot six northwest fractional qr & W 1/2 Lot 6 Northeast frl qr all in Section three 3 Township twenty nine 29 Range twenty two 22 west and having previously to the day of sale thereinafter mentioned given at least twenty days notice of the time terms and place of sale and the real estate to be sold, and there situate by advertisement in the Weekly Missouri Patriot a newspaper printed in my said County, I did on the 18 day of May 1870, offer said real estate for sale at the Court House door of my said County to the highest bidder for cash in hand whilst the Circuit Court of my said County was in session....and at said sale Martha A. Craige being the highest and best bidder for said real estate as above and herein described ... the price of ten dollars. Now Therefore, I. John A.
